I'm all for kicking a little terrorist ass.
However, our country seems to be spending a lot of money fighting wars overseas. Billions of dollars are being spent to maintain our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. At the same time, education spending in this country is being cut.
Teachers are being laid off.
Class sizes are increasing.
Students are spending less time in the classroom due to furlough days.
Art and music programs are being cut.
We are going to pay the cost of our country's focus on military spending for a long time.

education shouldn't be affected by military action - it isn't the job of the federal government to educate our children, it should be local and state governments' responsiblities (or parents). The federal government is trying to do too many things and isn't doing any of them well.
It's about money. The Feds send a lot of money to the local level to pay for many things. Education should be a little higher on their list of priorities.
Public education (which you and I have both had) has been the foundation of what has made this country great, whether it was a one room school house on the prairie or a 5000 student big city poly-technic.
You can't build a great nation spending money on the military. You can fight wars. Empires collapse under the weight of their military spending.
Let's bring our troops hme, disband the military, dissolve all alliances and focus only on ouselves. The world will be a better, safer place when the US is not a factor in foriegn affairs.
Balance, Pop. Balance.
