Wow! You Guys Look Old.

There comes a time in every man's life when he realizes it has been twenty years since he graduated from high school. This realization causes one to reflect upon one's misspent life. One wants to get in touch with one's old friends in an attempt to recapture some of that lost youth and measure one's progress down the road of life.

Several weeks ago I got in touch with my bestest friend from high school, Shanon, and suggested we might have a little get together with a few close friends. She liked the idea and ran with it. So today, we met at a restaurant in San Dimas for lunch.

It was fun. It was a gathering of nerds but it was fun. I hesitate to include myself in the category of nerd only because I lack the requisite intelligence. I'm the idiot amongst the nerds.

Marcelo brought his four-year-old son, Marcelo.

Shanon came with her husband, Dave.

Me and Shanon.

I was struck by how much Marcelo and Shanon have aged. They really look a lot older than I remember from high school. I, of course, have not changed a bit. A little more handsome perhaps, but still young. You be the judge:

No, you don't look a day older...except for all your gray hair! I don't remember Marcelo. Did I know him? If you graduated 20 years ago, that means I started high school 20 years ago. Okay, maybe we are getting old! Love you, big bro!

OK...what about when your parents realize it's been 20 years since you've graduated from school. Yikes!

It only gets worse Tim. 20 years becomes 30, then your kids turn 30, and then you've been married for EVER.... :)

It is called life. They say we should age with dignity but there seems to be a lot of INDIGNITY as we age.

Nice picture.........Was your hair a bit red in younger years? Mine was fire red, now the fire is burning out.
